My daughter has been attending John Robert Powers since September 2006. During this time the most valuable lesson I have learned is how the classes she has taken have made comprehensive impressions to her overall personality and have helped mold her as a growing, maturing, confident young lady. The Acting and Advanced Acting classes have made her even more willing to share her ideas in small group settings, understanding that her input is valuable to the group and that her ideas are worthy of consideration. She has learned how to act and react in situations that bring out the best in herself and those around her. She has learned how to project her voice and portray subtle nonverbal communication through facial expression and body language. She has sharpened her memory skills which have directly impacted her ability to study and retain her school work faster, allowing her to better use her time to balance school and play. She has learned how to more effectively multitask and juggle deadlines for school, recreational activities, and her homework for JRP.
The class that has held her interest the most is Fashion and Commercial Print with Ms. Tonya. Through this class, she has demonstrated her confidence and presence in a room of strangers. She has learned how to walk with grace demonstrating she can command attention of the audience in a confident manner. She has learned that what she wears can make her feel good about herself and that confidence carries over to all aspects of her personality. She eagerly completed the assigned homework weekly and put much thought and preparation into each week's assignments. She gave careful consideration to how she was dressed and took advice of Ms. Tonya seriously, even changing to a more healthy diet as recommended during the classes.
In summary, John Robert Powers has been the vessel by which my daughter has matured into a confident young lady ready to take on many challenges that she will face in her day life, as well as in the business of acting and modeling. We look forward to the many more lessons she will learn while training for iPOP. We eagerly await continued success in her future endeavors.
